New Playbook Review Updates

  • Concept-driven review: Harvey evaluates clauses based on meaning, not only exact wording
  • Lighter-touch redlining: Minimal, surgical edits to align with firm or company positions
  • Full-document context awareness: Suggestions account for how clauses interact across the agreement and be inserted in the correct places
  • Customization: Harvey can tailor each review based on the user’s party, whose paper it is, and additional negotiation context, resulting in highly relevant redline suggestions
  • Counterparty-ready comments: Harvey generates persuasive comments for every suggestion instead of only explaining the change
  • Collaborate with Harvey: During a playbook review, ask Harvey to update suggestions and comments based on your feedback or preferences

New Playbook Creation Updates

  • Instant playbook creation: Generate a structured playbook in seconds using Harvey templates for NDAs, MDAs, and commercial contracts.
  • Improved playbook conversion: Higher quality extraction from uploaded table-based playbooks that preserve your original rule language

Why It Matters

Playbook Review Updates in Word

Contract review is slow, inconsistent, and expensive. Legal teams are bottlenecked by first-pass reviews, holding up revenue, partnerships, and resources. This release speeds up review time through higher-quality issue spotting and redlines, and drives consistency across teams.

Playbook Creation Updates in Harvey

On the creation side, we've improved how playbooks are built and converted to get teams to their first review faster. Teams without a playbook can generate one in seconds using Harvey-built templates for NDAs, MDAs, and commercial contracts, then refine it with their own preferences and positions. Teams with existing playbooks benefit from significantly improved uploads that extract the exact language from your materials.

The result: faster playbook setup, cleaner drafts, stronger reasoning, and reviews that reflect how your team actually negotiates.

FAQs

Q: How is this different from the current Playbooks Review?

The revamped experience focuses on conceptual alignment rather than surface-level wording. It reduces over-redlining, removing language unnecessarily, and generates suggestions that reflect the broader contract context and negotiation dynamics.

Q: Will this reduce inconsistent positions across a document?

Yes. Harvey will evaluate related clauses together and apply playbook rules consistently. If a rule impacts multiple provisions, recommendations will be coordinated to maintain internal alignment across the agreement.

Q: Can I tailor the review to my negotiation posture?

Yes. The enhanced Playbooks Review will support customization based on party position, first- or third-party paper, and additional context—ensuring recommendations reflect your strategy and commercial goals.
